Festival of Museums

Sun 21 May
Burns Cottage, Culzean & Rozelle
£10.50 / £8.50

Festival of Museums Join us for the ‘Festival of Museums’ in South Ayrshire on Sunday 21 May from 11am – 4pm and experience three of our most scenic locations – Culzean Castle & Country Park, Burns Cottage and Rozelle House.

Rozelle House Museum & Galleries
Meet the Georgians! Step back in time at Rozelle House.  Our specially created tours led by characters in costume will guide you through the original Georgian mansion built in 1759. Come along and see the famous paintings, objects and curios held within South Ayrshire Council’s collections. (Free entry)

Burns Cottage
Head along to Burns Cottage to take a selfie in our (not so) authentic photo booth, complete with green screen and Georgian props box. Keep an eye out during the day for performances of Burns’s works, guided site tours, storytelling, children’s crafts and much more! (Ticket required)

Culzean Country Park
Georgians were full of intellectual curiosity and discovery, not least in relation to food. Join historical interpreter Kathy Hipperson in Culzean’s kitchen as she investigates some extravagant dishes, suitable for any C18th table. Using a variety of flavours and colours there will be layered jellies, fruit jellies and jellies that don’t look like jellies at all! (Ticket required)

Tickets - £10.50 / £8.50 includes –

  • Bus travel between all 3 locations
  • Entry to Burns Cottage and activities
  • Entry to Culzean Country Park and Culzean Kitchen activities
  • (Rozelle entry is Free)
